Bitter-sweet and refreshing

No special equipment required.


  • 25ml Campari
  • 25ml sweet red vermouth
  • 75ml tonic water
  • a slice of orange, plus long strip of the zest
  • ice cubes


  1. Using a vegetable peeler, pare a long strip of zest from the orange.
  2. Mix together the Campari and red vermouth in a highball glass over the cubes of ice.
  3. Squeeze the strip of zest over the drink, then drop into the glass. Top with the tonic water.
  4. Garnish with the slice of orange and serve immediately.
